Amazon
The Amazon is far away—even from Brazil, it took ten hours to get there. We used the tour company Amazon Antonio and our guide, Joseph, was amazing. He fished piranha with raw chicken, fashioned plates and an umbrella from leaves, carved spoons, and knew every tree in the jungle-even the one that secreted a fammable oil—very popular with the children. We all swam in the Urubu River at the Eco Lodge, and then we boated across to our fishing spot… Piranhas? Not to worry—the piranhas live on the other side of the river. I feel much better now.
